AKW Tuff Form8 Floor Former – Multiple Sizes & Optional Waste Outlet
The AKW Tuff Form8 Floor Former is a high-performance wet room solution designed to create a safe, level-access showering area. Manufactured from SMC-GRP (Sheet Moulding Compound Glass Reinforced Plastic), it offers exceptional strength and durability while maintaining a slim profile at just 22mm thick. Available in multiple sizes, the Tuff Form8 can be trimmed up to 150mm around the rotatable octagonal waste plate, allowing for flexible installation across all standard UK joist configurations. The waste frame rotates to align with joists, and the design eliminates the need for tedious screw hole drilling, streamlining the fitting process. Its ribbed underside structure prevents slippage and float during installation, ensuring a secure and stable fit. The built-in 1:16 gradient efficiently channels water toward the waste outlet, preventing pooling and maintaining a dry, safe showering area. With a maximum load capacity of 381kg (60 stone), the Tuff Form8 is suitable for wheelchair users and meets inclusive design standards. It supports both vinyl safety flooring and tiled finishes when used with a tanking kit (not included). Optional gravity and pumped waste kits are available to suit your drainage setup.
