Made to be mounted to the underside of shallow bowl kitchen sinks, the function of the insulation pad is to prevent a seated or wheelchair user from scalding their legs. As height-adjustable worktops have space beneath the unit to allow for legroom, there is the risk of heat conduction through the metal sink harming a seated user, but purchasing a heat insulation mat gives you peace of mind that you or the intended user of your worktop will be able to work in the kitchen safely.
