Accessible kitchens rarely benefit from treating the worktop as a standard off-the-shelf component. The depth, overall length, sink position, surrounding furniture and lifting system all influence how the finished working area should be planned.
Granberg's laminate worktops are manufactured for the individual project rather than supplied as a single fixed-size slab. The current Independent 4 Life range now covers two finished-depth bands — 450–610mm and 611–900mm — making it easier to coordinate the surface with fixed-height accessible layouts, deeper islands and compatible Granberg height-adjustable systems.
The result is a conventional-looking worktop that can still be planned as part of an accessible kitchen rather than added after the lifting system has been chosen.

Choose the depth range before the finish
From a conventional-depth worktop to a 900mm-deep surface
The original 450–610mm range remains the broadest choice, with seven current finishes. Independent 4 Life now also lists a 611–900mm range in selected finishes for projects that need a substantially deeper working surface.
Both ranges are 30mm thick and made to the confirmed project dimensions. The required depth should be coordinated with the lifting system, cabinetry, wall clearances, services and intended sink or appliance layout before manufacture is approved.

The current I4L category lists seven finish families. All seven are available in the 450–610mm range; White K1040 Un, Black Brazil, Grey Dust and Virrvarr Antracit are also currently listed in the deeper 611–900mm range. The swatches below are indicative only.
White K1040 UnClean neutral laminate. Currently listed in both depth ranges.

Finish availability differs by depth range. The current live catalogue lists seven finishes at 450–610mm and four at 611–900mm. Always confirm the final depth, material, edge treatment and colour before a made-to-order worktop enters production.

The best result comes from coordinating the surface with the lifting system, sink, tap, appliances and surrounding furniture before dimensions are signed off.
Sink and tap integration
Sink choice affects usable worktop depth, knee space, drainage and tap position. Treat the sink zone as part of the same specification rather than a later cut-out decision.
Fixed-height accessible kitchens
A made-to-measure surface can also be useful where the worktop itself does not move but dimensions still need to suit seated reach, specialist sinks or an adapted room layout.

Because these worktops are produced for the individual project, the important work happens before manufacture starts.
Confirm the lift or support
Identify the exact Granberg frame or fixed support arrangement the worktop will sit on.
Confirm the dimensions
Set the required overall length and choose the appropriate current depth band: 450–610mm or 611–900mm.
Coordinate the working zone
Check sinks, hobs, taps, services, walls and adjacent furniture before fabrication details are approved.
Approve the finish
Choose the worktop finish and confirm the final specification before bespoke manufacture begins.
These are bespoke made-to-order products. Once manufacture has commenced, cancellation, return or exchange is normally not possible unless the product is faulty or has not been made to the agreed specification.
