Granberg BUTLER 730 Electric Wardrobe Lift, Cabinet Width 600–1600 mm – Umber Grey Motor Covers & Black Arms
Granberg BUTLER 730 Electric Wardrobe Lift – Umbra Grey
The Granberg BUTLER 730 is a premium electric wardrobe lift designed to make high-level hanging storage easier to reach. At the touch of a button, the clothes rail moves outwards and downwards, bringing garments to a comfortable accessible height for both seated and standing users.
This Umbra Grey version features Umbra Grey (RAL 7022) motor covers, black anodised aluminium arms and a chrome-plated telescopic clothes rail.
The BUTLER 730 is designed for wardrobes from 600 to 1600 mm wide and is available with telescopic rail configurations to suit the different wardrobe widths within this range.
It is particularly useful in accessible bedrooms, dressing rooms, hotels, care environments and inclusive residential projects, allowing otherwise difficult-to-reach upper wardrobe space to be used more effectively.
The rail lowers smoothly and quietly and can be stopped at the preferred height. This allows the clothes to be brought within comfortable reach without requiring the user to stretch upwards or manually pull down a conventional wardrobe rail.

Designed for Accessible Wardrobes
Conventional wardrobes often place hanging rails too high for comfortable use from a seated position. The BUTLER 730 solves this by electrically lowering the clothes rail out of the wardrobe and towards the user.
This allows hanging clothes stored at high level to be brought within a much more comfortable working range, helping improve independence for wheelchair users and people with reduced reach or mobility.
The system also allows the upper section of a tall wardrobe to be used for hanging clothes while leaving valuable storage space beneath for shelves, baskets, drawers or shoes.
Suitable Wardrobe Widths
The BUTLER 730 is designed for wardrobes from 600 to 1600 mm wide. Two telescopic rail configurations cover the complete wardrobe range.
- For wardrobes width (mm): 600–1600
- Wardrobe widths: 600-900mm
- For internal wardrobe dimensions of 545-868mm in width
- Telescopic rail dimensions 453-776mm in width
- Wardrobe widths: 1000-1600mm
- For internal wardrobe dimensions of 945-1568mm in width
- Telescopic rail dimensions 853-1476mm in width
The internal cabinet width should always be measured before ordering to ensure that the correct telescopic rail configuration is selected.
Electric Out-and-Down Movement
The BUTLER 730 lowers the clothes rail by moving it both out of the wardrobe and down towards the user. This movement improves access to the garments and makes it easier to see and select clothing.
The movement is stepless, allowing the user to stop the clothes rail at the most comfortable working height.
- Approximate vertical movement: 704 mm
- Approximate outward movement: 591 mm
- Movement speed: 47 mm/sec
- Approximate lifting or lowering time: 15 seconds
Integrated Safety Stop
The BUTLER 730 incorporates an integrated safety stop designed to halt movement if the lift encounters an obstruction while lowering.
The installation should nevertheless be carefully planned so that the moving arms and clothes rail cannot create a trapping or crushing point against shelves, wardrobe fittings, doors or other fixed furniture.

A compact Bluetooth control button is supplied as standard with the BUTLER 730. The button can be positioned in a convenient location for the intended user and provides straightforward control of the lift.

Planning & Installation
- Check the wardrobe width and clear internal cabinet width before ordering.
- Select the correct telescopic rail configuration for the wardrobe size.
- The wardrobe must be securely anchored to the wall before the lift is operated.
- The cabinet construction must be capable of supporting the concentrated loads from the motor units.
- The suitability and strength of the wardrobe side panels must be confirmed before installation.
- Wall construction and wardrobe fixings may require reinforcement depending on the installation.
- Allow adequate clear space for the complete outward and downward movement of the clothes rail.
- Do not position shelves, doors, handles or other fittings where they could interfere with the moving lift.
- Avoid creating crushing or trapping points between the lift and fixed furniture or fittings.
- The required wardrobe depth will depend partly on the type and size of clothing being stored.
- The power supply should remain accessible for servicing.
- Installation should be completed by suitably competent installers.
Important Safety Information
The wardrobe must be securely fixed to the building structure. As the BUTLER 730 moves the clothes rail out in front of the wardrobe, the load is transferred forwards and can increase the overturning force acting on the cabinet.
The maximum permitted load on the clothes rail is 30 kg. The wardrobe, wall fixings and supporting structure must therefore be capable of safely supporting the loads generated during operation.
The lift must not be installed where its moving components could trap a user against another fixed object or item of furniture.
Warranty
- 5-year manufacturer warranty when registered in accordance with Granberg's warranty requirements.
- Without registration, the standard 3-year warranty applies.
