Nicobond Plastic Ply is a thin, self-adhesive tile backing system designed to provide a stable, moisture-resistant surface for tiling onto timber and chipboard floors.

This award-winning solution eliminates the need for traditional over-boarding with thick plywood sheets, reducing installation time, floor height build-up and labour requirements. At just 2 mm thick, it helps prevent issues such as cracking tiles caused by timber movement, shrinkage and warping.

Manufactured using recycled plastic materials, Plastic Ply creates a durable and flexible layer that reduces stress on tiled finishes while remaining easy to handle, cut and install.

Installation guidance:

• Ensure the timber or chipboard floor is structurally sound and securely fixed
• Apply a suitable primer or bonding agent and allow to dry
• Cut sheets as required and install in a staggered (brick-bond) pattern
• Press firmly to ensure full adhesion to the substrate
• Apply a layer of flexible tile adhesive (C2 S1 recommended) before tiling
• For wetroom installations, overlay with a suitable tanking system where required
