Hydromat EasyLap Self-adhesive Butyl Tanking Membrane - 7.5m² Roll

Hydromat EasyLap is a self-adhesive butyl tanking membrane roll designed to create a reliable waterproof barrier beneath tiled wetroom, shower and bathroom surfaces.

Suitable for both walls and floors, the membrane can be tiled over immediately once installed, helping to reduce drying time and speed up wetroom installation. The fleece-backed surface provides a strong key for tile adhesive, while the high-tack butyl backing creates secure adhesion to prepared substrates.

This 7.5 m² Hydromat membrane roll is ideal for extending or supplementing the Hydromat Self-Adhesive Tanking Membrane Kit. Joint tape, corners, primer and butyl sealant should be ordered separately where required.

Installation guidance:

• Ensure the substrate is sound, clean and free from contaminants
• Remove loose material before installation
• Fill any significant gaps or surface irregularities
• Prime surfaces where required and allow primer to dry before applying the membrane
• Install Hydromat joint tape and internal or external corners first where membrane joints, corners or wall/floor junctions occur
• Start from the corner and carefully apply the membrane to the surface
• Leave no gaps greater than 5 mm between joints
• At butt joints, overlap the membrane onto the joint tape by at least 70 mm
• Apply tanking at least 1 m up walls and 1 m into the room from the edge of the wet area
• Check the drain manufacturer’s instructions for the correct membrane-to-drain interface
• Tank any areas outside the main wet space that are frequently exposed to water
• Aim to create one continuous waterproof tanking layer down to the drain
• Once applied, roll over all areas to ensure maximum adhesion
• Apply butyl sealant to gaps, joints and pipe penetrations where required
• Refer to the PDF installation instructions before fitting
