Technically Convenient
As experienced experts, we know how to be commercially convenient, and so we’re NBS registered, and BIM models are available for most Granberg products.

Commercial Support for Architects
At Independent 4 Life Ltd, we help architects specify accessible building systems with confidence, clarity, and control over cost.
Too much of the accessibility sector relies on vague guidance, obscure and inflated pricing, and last-minute substitutions that undermine both design intent and project budgets. We exist to remove that friction.
We work with architects who want accessibility to be deliberate, defensible, and integrated into the design rather than layered on top of it. Our role is to bring clarity at specification stage by offering well-defined systems, fair and transparent pricing, and products that meet regulatory requirements without unnecessary complexity.
Our role is to make inclusive design easier to deliver, not harder to defend. That means fair pricing, clearly defined systems, and products that integrate cleanly into the wider architectural language of a scheme.
Rather than pushing a single manufacturer or one-size-fits-all solution, we supply a considered range of options. Each is selected by experts for build quality, durability, ease of installation, and ease of use, while still respecting proportion, materiality, and the wider architectural language of a scheme. Accessibility should support the space, not dominate it.
Everything we do is grounded in decades of practical experience and delivered from the UK by an experienced, expert team that understands how drawings translate into real buildings. If reviewing products visually helps inform decisions, our showroom can be explored in person, online, or through a guided video call. The aim is simple: to give architects confidence that what they specify will perform, comply, and arrive exactly as intended.
Accessibility should be deliberate, compliant, and resolved early. When it is, everyone benefits, from the design team to the end user.
Explore the difference.

Quick guidance
Having worked with architects in the past, we know how important it is to explain our specifications properly. Here’s a few FAQs and quick tips for navigating our content:
All of our Granberg products have BIM models available for them. You can view these by going to granberg-uk.co.uk and clicking on 'Bim object' at the very top navigation menu.
Most of our products come with installation guides and user manuals which provide additional technical details. You can find those by clicking on the 'Installation & Help Guides' dropdowns on the right centre of the product page. Where that doesn't suffice, try the 'long description' and 'technical inforrmation' dropdowns. Our team is always available to clear up any remaining doubt.
As always, if you would like to speak to an expert to answer further questions, email info@independent4life.co.uk or call 0800 500 3001.

Our background
It’s all well and good for us to explain how we can help, but we understand that many architects like to know who we are before dealing with us.
Independent 4 Life Ltd was founded to bring clarity to a market that too often relies on confusion and compromise. Established in the UK in 2009 and built on real-world building and accessibility experience, the business grew not out of inexperienced investment funding, but by a registered chartered building surveyor (who remains the company’s MD) who had first-hand exposure to how poorly specified, poorly explained solutions affect both people and projects. Today, Independent 4 Life is a ground-up success project that focuses on clarity, integrity, and practical outcomes, which underpins everything we do, from how products are selected to how advice is given and decisions are supported.
