Innovations 9 kg Wetroom Tanking Kit – Liquid Membrane System (8–10 m²)

The Innovations 9 kg Fabric Tanking Kit is a complete liquid waterproofing system designed to create a flexible, reliable barrier beneath tiled wetroom floors and walls.

Using a highly flexible paint-on membrane, this kit forms a continuous waterproof layer when used with the included fabric joint tape, internal corners and pipe collars. It is ideal for use on solid substrates such as concrete and screed, particularly where a gulley or floor former provides falls to the drain.

For areas subject to movement, such as timber or plywood floors, a sheet membrane system should be used in conjunction with the liquid membrane (order separately), or consider a full self-adhesive system such as Hydromat EasyLap.

To ensure effective waterproofing, the tanking system should be applied at least 1 m up the walls and 1 m out from the wet area, creating a continuous sealed surface down to the drain.

Installation guidance:

• Ensure surfaces are sound, clean and free from contaminants
• Prime all surfaces using the supplied primer and allow to dry
• Apply the first coat of liquid membrane evenly
• Install joint tape, corners and collars into the wet membrane
• Apply a second coat of membrane to fully encapsulate reinforcement
• Apply a minimum of two thin coats – thicker layers do not improve performance
• Allow approximately 24 hours drying time before tiling
• Use a solid bed tiling method to prevent water tracking
• Use S1 or S2 flexible tile adhesive for best results
